Eleven feature films were screened, focusing on a common theme each of the four days: beyond their plot, the films set in the past documented traditions, cultures, beliefs and languages of the vast Chinese territory in which up to 56 ethnic groups coexist, while today's China, in different geographical and social contexts, was represented in an authentic and lively manner by talented directors, mostly young, who with great mastery of the film medium were able to express themselves with a personal and innovative language.
The films were selected, with attention to artistic value and content, from recently produced films awarded by juries of International Festivals, following different strands to show various aspects of Chinese tradition and of our time.
