Ahead of the official opening of its 6th edition, the FánHuā Chinese Film Festival invites you to a special preview screening on Saturday, October 10, at the Centro Pecci in Prato.
🎬 6:30 PM – Woman from the Lake of sented souls by Xie Fei (1993, 105’) Original Chinese version with Italian subtitles.
Set in a rural village in Hebei, the film tells the story of a hard-working woman who buys a young wife for her mentally disabled son, unwittingly perpetuating the same cycle of domestic oppression that ruined her own youth.
Winner of the Golden Bear at the 1993 Berlin International Film Festival, this masterpiece returns to the big screen in a restored 4K digital version.
